Gender Vote

I need your vote! I am trying to decide what to do Wednesday. We have our gender sonogram Wednesday and I don't know whether to find out and let it be known, find out and keep it a secret for family and friends for Christmas or have the sonographer seal it in an envelope for us to open as a family Christmas morning. I don't know why I am struggling with this so much. I feel like we have been waiting this long so no matter when we find out it will be a great surprise, but Christian can't go with us Wednesday and I would love to find out as a family. The boys are so into this pregnancy, that I want to involve them as much as possible. So vote!

Unexpected Surprise!

Today I was decorating for Christmas and working on Christmas ornaments for all Reed's classmates and I heard a large truck pull up and it sounded like it stopped at our house. I started thinking we aren't expecting anything it must be next door. Ding Dong! It is us, hum... what is it? Return address BNSF! Oh My Goodness!!! I run back in the house screaming Chance you got something from BNSF and I am opening it right now! SCREAMING!!!! You better come see this!!!

I will take you back 2 weeks to explain the story. Chance and I needed to take a look at our insurance and make a decision whether to leave it alone or find something better. After looking, I got pretty down about the insurance, it is not so good! Chance has been a contract worker for BNSF and they do not recieve the benefits that a BNSF employee recieves. So, as I was trying to go to sleep and couldn't stop thinking about insurance, I started praying. I thanked God for Chances job and how God has always provided for us, then asked him to remove my worries about future insurance. I didn't ask God for a new job or anything else.

The very next day Chance recieved a call from BNSF hq. asking him to come for an interview for a job he had turned in a app. for several months prior. The interview could not have gone any better and he was excited about everything. The next week they called him and asked him to lunch to get to know him better. They pretty much told him they really liked him or they wouldn't have invited him to lunch, but no offer was out on the table and they made it sound like it could be a while before they knew anything.

So, today's unexpected package couldn't have been any more exciting!!! Chance got the job!!! We are celebrating in the Heady home!!! We have so much to be thankful for.

Spoiled Rotten

Everyone that knows me well, knows how much I love my dog! Chance and I got Rocky before we were married and he has been the best dog (once we got past puppy stage.) So, today I decided to make him some homemade dog treats, inspired by another blog. All the family & neighborhood dogs will be getting homemade dog treats for Christmas this year. I let Rocky test them and he loved them!

Here is the recipe if anyone would like to try it:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
2/3 cup flavored liquid (broth, bouillon, etc)
6 tablespoons vegetable oil

Mix all ingredients together.
Roll and cut into shapes
Bake at 350 F for 35 to 40 minutes.

Thankfulness

1. My Salvation
2. Personal relationship with Jesus Christ
3. A Godly husband
4. Our Children, Christian & Reed
5. A healthy pregnancy
6. Rocky
7. Family
8. Friends
9. Our house
10. Our Church

I have so much to be thankful for! These first 10 only scim the surface of what I have to be thankful for.

Verse of the day - “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,”- Hebrews 12:28

Holiday Open House

Amber M. and I decided to start a new little venture. Old World Salon (where Amber works) has a Holiday Open House every year and we wanted to make and sell stuff for it. We spent a lot of time the past two weeks working on crosses, plaques and tutus. If you see something you like and would like to see what we have left or see if we can make it for you, let us know.

Simon Turned 1

This is very late, but my precious nephew Simon turned 1. It is so hard to believe that he is already one and he is starting to look like a boy instead of a baby and it makes me sad. My sister-in-law did a great job of planning a low stress party for Simon. We had a great time.

It was also the Tech/OK State game so we stayed and watched it with them and spent the night. The next morning we enjoyed a lazy morning and then went out to the farm. At the farm we enjoyed a picnic on the porch, looking at longhorns, riding the rhino, the boys fished, etc...

Fun Stuff

This morning I was online searching for cute Big Brother shirts for the boys to wear to the hospital and found these at Resa Design. I love them. They also have some awesome blankets!

and...

While searching I ran across this felt playhouse on Etsy and just had to share. I think these are so cool and smart. They fit right over a card table, so you could put it up and take it down with ease! I love things like this because I am not a fan of large toys, but I know how much fun the kids would have in this. I may try to make one if I can find felt cheap enough. Here is the link to get your own http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16353917.

Avocados

Tomorrow is week 16! The baby is about the size of an avocado, about 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. I remember with Christian and Reed it was around week 16 or 17 that I started feeling them move, so I am pumped about that.

I am still struggling with the nausea, the phenegran does not seem to be helping, only making me tired. I am going to call my Dr. and see if he will put me on something else. Other than that the baby and I are great!

President of the United States

I did not vote for Obama, but this scripture has really spoken to me after the election results and I wanted to share it with you.

1 Timothy 2
1-3 The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.

Go Cardinals!

I love High School Football!!!! My nephew is a freshman in Pottsboro and his last game was last night, so we bundled up and headed to Valley View, TX last night and watched a great game. It was cold, cold enough for coats, blankets, and hot chocolate. It brought back great memories!!! They are even the Cardinals!!!

My boys!

My boys watching football. This picture was just too precious not to post!

Fall ball!

Well I posted at the begining of our season that this team was very young and it was way different than last year in many ways. But, I have to say this team has come so far!!! The first couple practices it seemed like Chance was a volunteer babysitter for a lot of the kids, but now the kids all seem to be doing so great! I have said it before and will say it again, Chance is an awesome Coach!!!

Christian seems to have really matured and is doing very well this Fall. He keeps telling us he wants to play baseball not t-ball, but Fall is almost over and only 1 more season of Spring t-ball then he gets to play coach pitch.

Halloween '08

Christian's school does a vocabulary word hat parade every year for halloween. So this year his word was Living Things in a Forrest. hmmm...

After school we came home set out the costumes and got all our candy ready to pass out. This is the first year that for halloween we stayed home and planned to trick or treat and pass out candy, so we were all a bit excited. The first time our door bell rang the boys ran to the door and gave each kid a huge handful of candy. It was so cute to see them want to make other kids happy. We then let Chance take over the candy bucket and walked the neighborhood with our neighbors. We had a blast, the kids were adorable and they loved trick or treating. It looks like the kids will want to trick or treat next year too.

Sorry!

Wow, it has been a long time since I posted. I wish I could say it is because we have had nothing going on... so nothing to post, but it is indeed the opposite. Life has been crazy and maybe I am not handling it as well as usual due to being pregnant, but I hope I get a hang of things once again before April.
