Role Call

Thanks to Beth tonight, telling me that she reads my blog and I had no idea...it gave me the idea to do a "roll call." I would love to know who and how many people are reading my blog. I would love for you to leave a comment here. Please?!?! Do I sound pathetic yet?

Oh by the way, I renewed my CPR tonight, so I can officially save your life again! There are parts of the CPR video that were very cheesey, but it is such a good feeling to be confident about what to do. I encourage you to take CPR/AED if you haven't already. You never know when you may need it! I will get off my soap box now and let you comment.

Twister

Christian got the game Twister at his party and the boys love it! I just had to share a picture of them playing. It was too cute not to share.

Christian's 6th Birthday Party

Christian and our neighbor (his best friend) celebrated their birthdays together at Let's Jump yesterday. Christian and Weston are pretty much inseperable in the summer, so we thought celebrating their birthdays together was only appropriate. Christian is turing 6 on August 6th, and Weston turned 7 on June 19th.

Vacation

Chance's parents took us to Galveston for 5 days. This was our first family vacation. The boys are big fans of vacation now! As soon as we got there I realized I left my camera batery charging at home. So I don't have any pictures from Day 1 or part of Day 2. We did as much sightseeing as possible, slept late, took naps, swam in the hotel pool, went to the beach, went to the dog races and ate some good food.

End of School Year

On the last couple days of school I forgot to take my camera with me to take pictures, but one of the mothers let me take pictures with her camera and she sent me the disk so here are some long overdue pictures.

Summer Blues

It used to annoy me when moms when talk about how they were ready for summer to be over so their kids could go back to school. This summer I am understanding what all these mothers where meaning. Summer is difficult! Reed and I had a system and schedule that we kept while Christian was at school this last year and it was so easy. Reed played so well and I got so much done. Christian is to the age that it takes more to keep him busy and out of trouble. He is very creative and has an amazing imagination, but somehow Reed and him just can't agree to do the same thing. While I never want to wish time away I am ready for school! I am ready to have my sanity back. I think I am to OCD for summer!

I will be on vacation for a few days, so I should have some pictures and stories to tell next week!

Painting

Reed and our neighbor were looking for something to do while the older kids played baseball so this is what I came up with...

Oh To Be 3

Sunday morning at church I was teaching in Reed's class and we only had 5 kids so it was much more laid back than usual and when I finished sharing the Bible Story I asked a few questions to see how well they were listening. They ended up each telling there own story and not one story was alike or about anything even similar to the story or what another kid had said. I sat there and laughed forever at how random 3 yr. olds are. I love it!!!

Kameron our nephew is staying with us and we were eating lunch yesterday and Reed starts to tell Kameron about Naaman (so he was listening) which quickly turned in to the story of Jonah (his favorite) and then tells Kameron all about the wii carnival game. Kameron thought he would try and interject his own randomness and said Chicken and Reed just kept going. We get a good laugh out of what comes out of Reed's mouth. He is so funny!

On My Mind...

He who began a good work in me, WILL be faithful to complete it!

This is something that I have to remind myself of often. I go through periods of time that I wonder what is going on in my life, and where it is going and so on. I am so thankful that I have a relationship with a God that is CONSTANT, He is always there, always loves me, always wants me to seek Him first and He promises that He will guide and direct my paths. If I look back at my life it is obvious that God has guided and directed me this far so why isn't easy to just know and trust that He will continue?

The Open Road

The boys in front of The Texas Ranger Museum
Awed by all the guns
4 future famous athetes!
Outside the Tom Landry theater

My favorite thing about summer is that we can make our schedule whatever we want it to be. We don't have to worry about missing school! So, we took a fun little day trip to Waco with friends. We went to the Texas Ranger Museum and looked at lots of cool guns. We enjoyed some Mexican food for lunch and then on to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. All of us love sports, so it was very fun! We watched a little movie on Tom Landry, listened to fight songs, compared hands, feet and strides with basketball players, learned interesting facts and bought some sports tatoos. We then headed home. Thank you Mercer's for being you and thank you for inviting us to go with you. We had a blast and we love you guys!
